Just Another ‘Absolute Essentials’ Drugstore Haul…

I hope you’re all having a wonderful time (enough to not realise how late this post actually is lol *pulls embarrassed emoji face*). I’ve been enjoying my bed for once and lemme tell you, I sooo needed it. I feel super refreshed and even managed to deep clean the flat. I also got to see my girlies for some car karaoke and take a trip to the drugstore for some essentials/replacements.

Wanna see what I got?

OK, I know it’s not all that exciting. Some of these are so basic (and affordable) yet I’ve never mentioned them here. Today I figured I’d do just that, for those of you interested! I’m really intrigued to hear what products make it into to your ‘absolute essentials’ collection, so be sure to use the comments section below to get involved and have your say 🙂

For now though, let me give you a small review on each of the products featured in this drugstore haul:

Superdrug Dead Sea Purifying Clay Mask

Y’all know that I have oily/blemish-prone skin, so it won’t take you long to work out why this product is one of my absolute essentials. Dead Sea Minerals are THE BEST for drawing out dirt from the pores, and that combined with Witch Hazel and Willow Bark Extract makes for the perfection combination for my skin type, especially in the summer!

It prepares my face for a day in the sun, helps my complexion and works wonders in terms of keeping my makeup stay put even in humid weather conditions. It smells like lemon and eucalyptus, so I leave it on for waaaay over the suggested time limit of 10-15 minutes. Do this at your own peril, but don’t even consider it if you have sensitive skin! I do it to dry out my T-section but am always careful and moisturise afterwards.

Superdrug Total Clean Universal Replacement Brush Heads

This is super duper random but hey, that’s the charm of personal blogs… right? Anyway, I picked these replacement brush heads up to, well, replace my old toothbrush heads… what else?

Lol, what is worth mentioning here, without stating the obvious, is that I recently reverted to a ‘normal’ toothbrush brush because I’d run out of new heads for my electronic one.

It took me a good few month to remember to replace them (pure laziness, I know) but I can actually say that I saw a SCARY difference in SUCH a short amount of time. Towards the latter end of these few months my teeth were looking a lot yellower than they ever had before and I guess that’s what kicked me into gear a bit.

Since using my new brush heads, my teeth are back to normal – plaque-free and unproblematic! Thank god for electronic toothbrushes aye!

Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women

The truth is out: I shave.

I’ve never been a waxer, though I have had my bikini line and legs done prior to holidays a few times before. In fact, it’s these few times that put me off for good – and not because of the pain, because I know that’s what you’re all anticipating – no, it was the way my hair grew back that makes me want to give it a wide berth.

I’m not a hairy person, really, so when I first got my bikini line waxed, there wasn’t actually much to wax. At this point I’d been shaving for years without any issues, but after waxing I found that my hair grew back thicker, darker… and in places that they previously weren’t before!

I made this mistake far too many times than I like to admit, and I’m honestly still paying for it now. I’m totally #teamshave and a Wilkinson Sword is ALWAYS my choice of weapon. They provide the such a close shave and last far longer than any others I’ve used before (and trust me I’ve gone through a lot… over the years.. I’m not a beast, common guys)!

Imperial Leather Limited Edition Japanese Spa Nourishing Body Wash

& Imperial Leather Invigorating Hair & Body Wash for Men (because you should never leave the hubby out!)

I switch my body wash up constantly, which isn’t something I’d actually suggest to anyone. It’s normally best to stick to a product you know works well for your skin type but I personally love to mix it up a bit. I like different textures and smells to keep bathtime exciting (god, I’m getting OLD)…

But yeah, that’s the truth. On this trip I picked up two, one for Sam and another for myself (otherwise he just uses up all mine). I went for Imperial Leather because they were on offer and the Japanese Spa one smelt truly dreamy! It’s limited edition and is infused with green tea, jasmine and rice milk. For 99p, I’d stock up on a few if you can!

The men’s Invigorating Hair & Body Wash smells kind of menthol-ly and is infused with sea minerals and ginseng. It’s fresh, manly and Sam seems to like it. Double thumbs up for Imperial Leather I guess!

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner in Forest Brown

I’ve used brown kohl eyeliners many, many times before. With great success, might I add. However, I’d never ventured out of my usual makeup routine enough to seek out a brown liquid liner… until now. Yes, it is down to Kylie Jenner AGAIN and I hate to admit that because I’m not all that keen on what her and her family stand for, but let’s face it her face is incredible. Plus, she gets all the top tips from the best professional makeup artists and who I am to argue!? Haha.

So far, I’ve loved the results I’ve been able to achieve with this Maybelline Master Eyeliner Pen (I’ll post a picture on IG soon so you can judge for yourselves). It’s dark enough to provide definition but more subtle for a warmer, softer look, which is kinda what I’m going for at the moment.

And that’s about all for today… and I think that’s wise as I’ve already shared far too much for a mid-day Monday!!

Loves ya
