Ladies! Welcome to #TREATSOFTUESDAY 🙂
Today I thought I’d share 4 of my favourite hot-right-now trends for Summer 2016.
Warning: You may want put your hand on your chin… because some of these pieces are seriously jaw-dropping!
I don’t know one woman who isn’t happy to see the return of the one-piece. Personally, I’ve always felt body-conscious wearing a bikini or two-piece, so it’s a relief to know that you can finally be trendy without letting it all hang out. There’s a wide mixture of styles trending right now. I love an elegant cow neck as it’s fairly uncommon yet super flattering, but I also love bright bold colours and geometric patterns. This is the type of trend I’d encourage anyone to follow, because no matter your size or style there’s something suitable for you!
Ah, the strappy silk slip! Looks like a nighty but costs so much more! Admittedly, this trend isn’t for everyone. However, I’ve included it because it’s a bit of “me”. Silk slip dresses tend to do me justice – they cling to my body shape naturally and therefore always fit perfectly! I hate rigid clothes that I can’t move around or do anything in and with the silk slip all you get is comfort. I have a black one and I love to pair it with a white T and pointed black court shoes, though you could even go for white sport trainers instead (might try that myself next time). The T-shirt dresses it down a little and makes it more wearable for all ages.
A little less sexy but far more classy (and slightly conservative) midi micropleats are elegant and understated. They’ve graced the catwalks in many different forms this year and I believe they’re here to stay a while. I love the way they flow and how the material provides some structure but not too much. Lots of people are opting for black or beige skirts right now, but I think some sort of accent brings this trend to life. I guess it depends how you plan to wear it – for me, a tight white scoop top and matching lace-ups would be the ideal combination.
Patchwork is so interesting to look at and lot of the time, it tells a story. Most of the stuff you see right now has an aztec sort of feel to it, though there are some really cool modern concepts taking the fashion industry by storm this year too. What I love most is incorporating the old into the new. I think this is a trend you can treat yourself to without spending a penny. Use your imagination to get creative and make a special something out of what is currently a redundant nothing!
